Our Practice
Minnesota Dental Anesthesia provides anesthesia services directly in local dental offices for all ages, with a focused specialty in working with children who require full sedation.
Minnesota Dental Anesthesia is staffed by Dr. James Lipon, who is himself a pediatric dentist; a trauma-level, residency-trained dentist anesthesiologist, and father of three.
Along with one — and often two — on-site registered nurses, Dr. Lipon oversees every aspect of your child’s dental anesthesia directly in your local dental office. He and his team focus solely on ensuring your child receives the highest level of anesthesia care, leaving your pediatric dentist free to focus on treating your child’s dental issues.
Minnesota Dental Anesthesia uses the same type of anesthesia machines and sterile medical equipment commonly found in hospitals and surgery centers. The MDA team brings everything you would typically find in a surgery center to each dental office — including all precautionary emergency equipment and medications, should any adverse anesthesiology issue arise.
Dr. Lipon’s philosophy of care is firmly rooted in the belief that every child — or adult — should expect and receive the highest-level of anesthesia care available, regardless of the setting.
He treats every single patient — particularly every child entrusted to his care — as he would expect one of his own children to be treated.
He and his wife, Cynthia, and their children, Lucia, Remi and Quincy, live in Edina.
Dentist anesthesiologists must complete two to three years of additional work in a full-time, hospital-based residency providing anesthesiology services for a full range of medical procedures.
